Specialties & Who We Serve

All of our clinicians specialize in trauma, and have extensive training in a wide variety of trauma types and trauma reactions. Our administrative staff member also has training to be trauma-informed.
We tailor treatment to each individual client. Our team provides cognitive processing therapy (CPT) and prolonged exposure therapy (PE). Your therapist will support you in deciding what approach is right for you.
In CPT, you will work with your therapist to process and heal how trauma has shaped the way you think and feel about yourself, others, and the world around you. In PE, your therapist will support you in processing painful memories you may have of the traumatic experience. PE also focuses on helping clients to reclaim parts of your life that may feel more frightening since the trauma. Both treatments focus on helping clients to better understand their reactions since the trauma, and on resolving unwarranted guilt and self blame.

All of our clinicians have extensive experience with the military and veteran populations, as well as experiences with first responders broadly. All of our clinic staff previously worked or trained at the Steven A Cohen Military Family Clinic at Penn. Our clinicians all had at least one year of training at the Philadelphia VA. We are dedicated to providing quality mental healthcare to this population.
