Leilani Bell, PhD

(she/her)

Postdoctoral Psychology Fellow

Hello, I’m Dr. Leilani Bell. I am a postdoctoral psychology fellow, able to see clients virtually in NJ and PA. I work with children/teens ages 10+, adults, and parents through both individual therapy and parent coaching, with a special interest in treating concerns related to trauma, neurodivergence, and life transitions.

Much of my work centers on supporting individuals and parents during life’s pivotal moments. Whether you are adjusting to life’s changes, reevaluating relationships, or trying to reconnect with yourself, therapy can offer a space to pause, reflect, and begin rediscovering your own voice.

Over time, life can leave us feeling exhausted, disconnected, or unsure of who we are outside or the roles we play. In our work together, we take time to understand the full context of your experiences and emotions — your history, the patterns that have shaped how you relate to yourself and others, and the pressures that may be influencing your present. From there, we begin to untangle what may no longer be serving you and move toward a way of living that feels more grounded, intentional, and aligned with who you are becoming.

My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, collaborative, and deeply respectful of your lived experience. I believe healing often begins with feeling seen and understood, particularly if your story has been shaped by difficult relationships, grief, or past harm. At the same time, therapy can also be a space for growth and forward movement. Together, we explore meaningful insights while also developing practical tools and strategies that support change in everyday life.

Working with children and teens requires patience, sensitivity, and a deep understanding of the emotional, developmental, and environmental factors that shape how they experience the world. As a former teacher and school counselor, I draw from my experience supporting children and their families. I strive to create a thoughtful, compassionate space where children feel safe, understood, and empowered as they navigate challenges, build resilience, and grow.

I am especially passionate about helping my clients navigate difficult life transitions and grief. These experiences can feel overwhelming and disorienting, but they can also create space for healing, clarity, and meaningful growth. My goal is to walk alongside you through these seasons — helping you process what you’ve lost, make sense of where you are, and move forward in a way that feels grounded, supported, and authentic.

Outside of my professional work, you’ll find me outdoors with my family, enjoying fiction novels, traveling, or trying new (to me) restaurants.
