Moving Through It provides evidence-based, trauma-informed psychotherapy. The practice’s core philosophy is centered on empowering clients with actionable skills to achieve self-sufficiency and emotional well-being, with the ultimate clinical goal of helping clients "graduate" from therapy.


Do you offer in-person and online virtual therapy?

Yes, Moving Through It offers both in-person therapy at their Cherry Hill, NJ office (Suite 4, Barclay Farms Shopping Center) and virtual telepsychology. Through PsyPact authorization, licensed clinicians can provide virtual therapy to clients located in over 40 participating U.S. states.

Does Moving Through It have specialized training in working with first responders?

At Moving Through It, we provide evidence-based, compassionate therapy for individuals, couples, children, and families facing complex emotional challenges.

Conditions We Treat

  • Trauma & PTSD related to combat trauma, childhood abuse, sexual trauma. We also work with complex trauma and moral injury.

  • Anxiety & Mood: Panic, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), mood swings, and anger management.

  • Relationships & Family: Interpersonal conflict, trust recovery, parent-child dynamics, and childhood behavioral/emotional challenges.

    • Prolonged Exposure (PE): Behavioral and somatic treatment structured to support the processing traumatic memories and reduce fear responses.

    • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT): Tools to reframe unhelpful thoughts and beliefs caused by trauma.

    • STAIR (Skills Training): Hands-on skills to build understanding and control of emotions and improve relationships.

    • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Learning to reframe unhelpful thoughts and change unwanted behaviors, particularly helpful for panic, anxiety, depression, and anger management.

    • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Learning to shift your focus to how you want to live your life in line with what’s important to you.

  • Couples & Relationship Therapy

    • Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy (IBCT): Practical strategies to rebuild trust, communication, and emotional intimacy.

    • CBCT for PTSD: Couples therapy specifically designed for relationships impacted by trauma.

    • We are also skilled in working with infidelity and trust violation and recovery, as well as sexual issues.

  • Child & Parent Support

    • Parent Coaching: Practical strategies to navigate ADHD and behavioral or emotional challenges at home.

  • Child CBT & Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT): Age-appropriate, specialized therapy to help kids process trauma and manage anxiety.

Does Moving Through It have specialized training in working with military and veterans and their families?

Yes, Moving Through It is an explicitly Queer and Trans Affirming clinical practice. If you are interested in a letter regarding gender-affirming care, please see information here.


Yes, all Moving Through It providers were previously trained and/or employed at the Cohen Clinic at Penn, and have taken many hours of training and had many clients in the military/veteran community. Dr. Leilani is particularly interested and skilled at working with military family members (spouses, children, parents, etc).


Yes, all Moving Through It staff have experience working with first responders. Dr. Ashleigh and Dr. Mora have specialized training in these areas due to their work with the Cherry Hill Fire Department Peer Support Program.
